The National Football Museum has been invited to stage a special Hall of Fame Awards Dinner this year in Liverpool at ACC Liverpool on Wednesday 8th October as part of the European Capital of Culture celebrations.

Nine legends will be inducted into this year’s special European Hall of Fame, the Selection Panel have deliberated to select the greatest players and managers of all time in the English game based on performance and the results will be publicised later in the year, but just for you, here are some clues about who the Hall of Fame will celebrate this year:

• Three of the most famous footballing Scots

• Four of the Northeast's greatest footballing sons
