IN THE BLUE CORNER...

Nicky Summerbee

Hailing from a family of football legends, it is no surprise that Nicky became a professional footballer. Following 112 appearances for Swindon between 1989 and 1994, Summerbee joined Manchester City where he played over 130 games for The Blues.

Mike Summerbee

He is most well known for playing for Manchester City during the team's glory years of the 1960s and early 1970s. He played on the right wing and was one of the most influential players of his generation. Known as a bit of a joker he had a great rapport with the fans. He was also a close friend of the legendary George Best, and became one of the cult footballing heroes of the swinging sixties!

A father and son duo, expect plenty of banter!

IN THE RED CORNER...

Ron Atkinson

Ron Atkinson is one of the finest, funniest and controversial speakers on the after-dinner circuit. He can call on a long career as a player and manager for stories that are never less than interesting and often quite hilarious. It was as a manager that Atkinson really made his mark on the game, with his most successful spell at Old Trafford. He led Manchester United to FA Cup victory in 1983 and 1985, not finishing lower than fourth position in the First Division. However, his failure to win the league title meant he was replaced by Sir Alex Ferguson in 1987, after six years at the club.

Tommy Docherty

Tommy Docherty is renowned as one of the most colourful characters in football – the man who often claims to have more clubs than Jack Nicklaus! As a player Tommy Docherty launched his career with Celtic, made 324 appearances for Preston and then moved further south with Arsenal and Chelsea. Perhaps his most memorable success as a manager came at Old Trafford, where he created an exciting team. which took Manchester United to the Second Division Championship in 1975 and FA Cup glory two years later.

After drinks and a wonderful three-course lunch, the boys will be live on stage to discuss the history, banter and battles that have taken place over the years between the Red and Blue sides of Manchester.
