Celebrate St George’s day in true MBN style! One of the most popular lunches in the MBN diary. We celebrate everything English and hear stories from England’s greatest ever sportspeople and personalities. Not only this but renditions of Rule Britannia, Land of Hope & Glory and Jerusalem with the 32 piece Royal British Legion band will ensure you celebrate St George’s day properly.

SIR IAN BOTHAM

Sir Ian Botham is one of England’s greatest cricketers, renowned for his powerful batting and pace bowling. A key figure in the 1981 Ashes series, Botham achieved over 5,200 runs and 383 wickets in Test cricket. After retirement, he became a commentator and raised millions for charity, earning a knighthood in 2007 for his contributions to sport and philanthropy.

SIR GEOFF HURST

‘They think it’s all over.. it is now!’ Sir Geoff Hurst is a true English sporting legend and needs no introduction! Hurst became the first player to score a hat-trick in a World Cup final as England beat Germany 4-2 in 1966. He began his career at West Ham where he scored 242 goals in 500 games and won the Fa Cup in 1964. In total Hurst scored 24 goals in 49 appearances for England. A little known fact is that Sir Geoff has also made a first team appearance in cricket for Essex!

JASON FOX

Jason Fox is a former Royal Marine Commando and Special Forces Sergeant, serving in the Special Boat Service for over 20 years. Foxy is co-lead of Channel 4’s award-winning show ‘SAS: Who Dares Wins’ and is a presenter and producer of critically acclaimed Channel 4 & Netflix documentaries, including ‘Inside the Real Narcos’ and ‘Return To Afghanistan’. He is the author of Sunday Times bestselling books ‘Battle Scars’ and ‘Life Under Fire’. Foxy embarked on a hugely successful tour ‘Life at the Limit’ earlier this year as well as taking part in various speaking events. Foxy is also a leading figure in mental health.
